What We Say: Martin Scorsese has gotten to the point in his career where he has so fine-tuned his skills that audiences will probably never see another sub par flick from him. From the look of its trailer, Shutter Island looks to be nothing special. It’s only after you let Scorsese take you for a ride do you see his how effortlessly he makes it all seem. Shutter Island is another crowning achievement by the auteur who reminds audiences just how good he is. He is a living legend who actually is still regularly producing new projects every few years. Sir Kingsley said at a press conference: "Though it looks like a thriller, the glue that holds it together is varying levels of tenderness." Scorsese traps audiences in a world where one questions what is reality and what is dream. It’s a twisted thriller and one heck of a fantastic ride by one of cinema’s greats.
